It's a wrap...

I had no idea at the beginning of the year when I made the decision to quietly continue my journey with 365faces on teabags that it would lead me to do my TinyBagsofLove Class.  It was like everything I had been a part of for the past two years had led me to this point.

Like with my journey with 365faces / 1faceaday for the second year running, it really was in the art of showing up each day and ticking off my daily filming and editing obligations, that my class came together.  As my final week was drawing to an end, I could literally see the finish line and I was like a horse bolting for home.

I'm not going to lie... this was hard work and I felt like I was literally holding my breath.  This is my first class and it is new ground for me all the way.  But I seriously had the most incredible support.  I had my moments of self doubt and disbelief in what I was doing, of course and still do.  But on a whole - I loved the journey and I had fun too.  I learnt so much about myself, about the way I speak and let me tell you hearing oneself recorded is never comfortable.

For now, as Ivy and Chris generously build my class for open day on Monday, the 8th... I'm finding rest, going gently and sorting out my life and studio space and I completely look forward to being with you in class.

I'm nervous, excited and humbled.  Completely.

Reopen for registration...

My little teabag class is reopening for registration again today for a second class.

If you missed signing up the first time, here is another chance.
I've been working full on to get my material finished on time and I'm almost ready.

I am getting so excited... see you in class.

Awesome exercise...

I can't tell you how much I loved this challenge and I love the outcome.
It was an activity I did for my little class.

Such fun.

Marching right past 200...

I am enjoying these girls - I did a group of nine with the same palette and there is a definite synergy between them.  But I've enjoyed this project so much.

I absolutely love this one...

I was kind of struggling with these two - but with a series of dabs and blending they appeared.
I really love the looseness and the emotion.

the tea parlor

Prepping boxes and boxes of teabags for my little class.

They are precious, delicate and soft.

And the best part is my studio smells like a tea parlor.

Class fun...

I am so excited to share this beautiful activity with you in class.
Making beauty this week has been so precious for me.
Other things too - so as much as there creative portraiture in the class...

There will also be beautiful things to make too.

I haven't forgotten...

I haven't forgotten about this special space...

I've just been deep in my TinyBagsofLove classroom and pulling all my materials, heart and soul together for class has been full on.  I haven't had too much time for blogging or posting.

But I am still showing up.  I will try and catch up during the next week or so.

Painting in this grouping has brought about some special outcomes.
Can't wait to share more about this in class.

June catchup...

I am finally out of bed and today was catchup day.
I got to hang out with my TeaBagGirls all day.
Just being up and about was stunning and I'm finally starting to feel more human.
Happy day!

Double vision

I'm seeing double for June.
It's harder than I was expecting.  I haven't felt like anything this month.
Being sick has pushed me off kilter and doing these gals when I'm so cold and under the weather...
has not been easy.    But pushing through.

My teabags were rough and a little hard to work on today.

Featured in the Rooibos Magazine...

Rooibos

My hubby was so proud of what I was doing on the TeaBags that he contact Rooibos Ltd about a year ago to tell them about my TeaBagGirls.  They wrote back to me and asked me and him to share a bit of the story.  So we did.

They shared my story in their Magazine.

I love that they call me the TeaBagGirl that paints on TeaBags.
It was a happy find.  I was searching the internet for a hashtag and accidentally came across it.
I can't figure out exactly when it was shared but I'm sure it was about a year ago when I was still doing 100Faces with Sharon Tomilson when I was still sending Rooibos TeaBags across the ocean.

Class is almost full....

My Tiny Bags of Love class is almost filled.  I can't thank you enough.  The love and messages have been overwhelming.

We didn't want it to be too big for my first time class, as I will be interacting a lot in the Facebook classroom.  That was important to me.  I want to feel connected to everyone, who is taking part in this little class.

It's our journey... mine as much as yours and I am looking so forward to growing with you through this time.

So I am sure there are still a few spots left, if you are keen.  I can assure you, the class members are a beautiful bunch already.

And off to the framers we go...

Batch No. 4

I can't tell you how hard I worked to catch up with my TeaBagGirls, this week.
So that I could stick to my schedule to drop off my next batch of 40 TeaBags for framing.

It's my 4th batch.  We are working in batches of 40.
So my next one is due on Tuesday, the 19th July.

I'm not getting behind schedule again.
Having my dates set up ahead of the time - definitely helps me stay focused.

SweetestLove...

They feel waify and like they have a story.
Definitely one of my favourites from this week.

June is double...

Double the effort, Double the love, Double the trouble.
I'm loving it.

Using a reference... Klimt inspired

I have a sweet little book with MotherDaughterLove images and poems.  And this was one of them.
To help keep me inspired and engaged for June, Jackie and I decided to do double or triple faces on our TeaBags.

I loved this piece.  I know it's my interpretation of Klimt but I'm in love with it.
I know I'm going to adore June already.

Gentle tenderness...

There is such a tenderness here.
Which I just love.  I filmed myself painting this.
But only half way - I will share it soon.
Seeing them come forward - is always delightful.

Class is open for registration...

Oh my goodness - I'm sooo excited because today registration opened.
For my Tiny Bags of Love class.

I'm nervous excited and really blown away by the excitement about this class.
It has totally meant the world to me.  I know I now have a beautiful job ahead of me...
of sharing my love for these sweetest Tiny Bags of Love.

And to be honest I can't wait to share this with you!

EvolutionOfATeaBagGirl...

It's quite interesting where it starts to where it ends.
I've always love this process of an EvolutionofaPainting, but this time of a TeaBagGirl.

Each time I do one - it's completely different - I love it!

May is a wrap...

May was tough because in April I got a week behind and I have been lugging that around with me all through May.  I just couldn't catch up.  But I managed to pushed hard to finish May and transition into June.  I am happy to say I'm 100% back on track.

May has some of my favorite TeaBagGirls - I love the richer colors, deeper faces.

Being able to see  my progress from January until now - so encouraging.

Thursday 2 June 2016

Just keep painting...

Almost ready to hand in my next 40 gals.
And about to receive my next framed 40 back.

Seeing this project come together has been such a beautiful journey for me.
