I have exciting news...

Last year, my sweet friend Ivy Newport asked me if I would consider teaching with her and without thinking too much about it, I said YES.  I said I would say that much more this year but putting that into practice, is more difficult than you think.

So I had said YES - but I had no idea what I was going to teach.  At all.  I wanted it to be true to me and make perfect sense to who I am.  And what could be more so than my beloved TeaBagGirls.  They are a very big part of my life this year and have been an ongoing journey for me.

A friend of mine wrote to me earlier in the year and said she thinks I should consider doing a class about my TeaBagGirls and I guess that planted a seed... and so when Ivy asked me again, I suggested this and it was an "of course" moment for both of us.

I'm not going to lie, I'm nervous but I'm uber excited!  I have lots of work ahead of me... but I can't wait.

I hope you will join me in this sweet little adventure,
as we discover painting tiny emotional portraits on the sweetest..
Tiny Bags of Love.

Playing catch up with life and tea...

Painting on toned backgrounds.
Always a different way to paint.
Sometimes it's harder but it's always rewarding.

Almost 100% back up to date with life, love and everything else.

So sophisticated....

She's so sophisticated .  I quite like here.  When going through my gallery, I realised I've been painting this angle of the face quite a bit.  I need to mix it up a bit... like try it from the other side.

It's more difficult than you would imagine.  Our brains map pathways and it's easier to follow the same route over and over.

That's where it would be good to use a reference to help you see and try and map a new new way... my next mission.

Plus I have some ideas for June...

Facing the end of May...

I haven't had too much time to blog here this past week...
But we continue to journey on... my next 40 frames arrived home this week.
And they are beautiful - I'm really so thrilled with each one.
Each frame gets stamped at the back with my name, gets re-wrapped and packed away - ready for exhibition.

I'm more in love than ever...

I am so in love with my teabaggirls at the moment.
I know that sounds a bit silly - but they are making me so happy.
And I'm excited to paint them everyday.  I'm just having so much fun!
Isn't that what it is all about.  Maybe it has something to do with the longterm goal.

This adventure I'm on and with the exhibition in sight.
Having purpose makes everyday make more sense.
Pushing and stretching my boundaries.  I am loving that.

Little bags of love...

TeaBagJournal...

So my teabag love continues and I'm finding new ways to play with them.
And I'm particularly in love with this...

She flowed right out my brush...

Sometimes, it's just so effortless and fun.  Always such a joy, when they flow right out!
I love the elements of green and yellow so much.  In the coming week I'm going to use references to inspire me.  It always brings something new to the table.  Sending love as we journey on.

May is marching on....

We are marching through May and I can't believe we are almost 5 months through.
This weekend I collected 40 of my frames that are framed and ready.
And I'm over the moon with how beautiful they are.  Wow.
I even teared up a little.

#HappyDancing here tonight.

Framing has momentum...

I got to see my first sample... and it way better than I expected.
I'm so stoked and I can't wait for my first 120 to arrive home.

It's taken me four long administrative months to finally get to this point.
And I'm happy to be finally gaining momentum.

I now know what they will look like and where we are going...
Let the journey continue.

Morning doodles... Evening discoveries...

I did this quick draw up before work.
I already loved her then and couldn't wait to find her when I got home.
And that I did... I really love her!

Gaining ground and I'm one happy girl!

Gaining ground and momentum.
I dropped these four off today with the framers too.

I saw my sample framed up today and I'm beyond stoked!
They are going to look so incredible all together.

Next big step - to find a location to exhibit.

At last...

I can't even tell you how excited I am about this.  It's taken me 4 full months to get to this point. I had no idea it would take me this long.

Settling on a framing solution and finding an affordable option without compromising on the vision or quality. And today I secured the next step - getting my sweet girls into their new frames.

These 120 odd TeaBagGirls, together with their 120 wooden frames are ready to be handed to my brilliant local framers for each one to be set professionally.  I'm actually feeling a little emotional about it. The next time I see them - they will be ready for showing.  It's a huge step!

Going forward, as I finish each month -they will be sent in for this final step.

I am beyond excited.
